Fernanda Pineda es fotógrafa, productora y cineasta nacida en Bogotá. Inició su carrera con estudios de cine y desde entonces ha desarrollado un trabajo centrado en la narración visual de historias sociales, culturales y ambientales en América Latina. Su obra personal explora la memoria, la identidad y la espiritualidad en comunidades en America Latina guiada por la pregunta: ¿cómo los pueblos resisten y se transforman frente a la violencia y el olvido?
Su investigación artística se despliega en el cruce entre foto periodismo y cine documental, integrando la observación íntima con una búsqueda poética de la relación entre territorio y vida comunitaria. Para ella, la imagen es una herramienta de resistencia, cuidado y transmisión de saberes.
Comprometida con la creación colectiva, ha acompañado procesos de formación en narrativas visuales y colaborado estrechamente con comunidades para fortalecer espacios de memoria y representación. Actualmente, su trabajo se enfoca en proyectos que conectan la espiritualidad, la naturaleza y la experiencia humana como ejes para repensar nuestra relación con el presente y con el futuro.
Su trayectoria ha sido reconocida en espacios internacionales de fotografía. Ha recibido el Premio Gabo de Periodismo – Fotografía (2025), el Vision Sud-Est Award en Visions du Réel (2024) y el World Report Award | Documenting Humanity – Master Award 2025 (Shortlist). Además, ha sido destacada en POY Latam (categoría Nuestra mirada, otros mundos posibles, 2024) y nominada a premios como el Foam Paul Huf y el Leica Oskar Barnack (2024 y 2025). Su obra ha sido destacada y exhibida en festivales y plataformas internacionales como Arte x Arte (Buenos Aires), Photoville (Nueva York), ArtBo (Bogotá), Rivoli Galerie París, Latin American Foto Festival (Bronx Documentary Center, Nueva York) y FOLA Uruguay.

Fernanda Pineda is a Colombian photographer, producer, and filmmaker born in Bogotá. She began her career with film studies and has since developed work focused on visual storytelling of social, cultural, and environmental issues across Latin America. Her personal practice explores memory, identity, and spirituality in communities throughout the region, guided by the question: how do communities resist and transform in the face of violence and oblivion?
Her artistic research unfolds at the intersection of photojournalism and documentary cinema, combining intimate observation with a poetic exploration of the relationship between territory and community life. For her, the image is a tool of resistance, care, and the transmission of knowledge.
Committed to collective creation, she has led visual storytelling workshops and collaborated closely with communities to strengthen spaces of memory and representation. Her current work focuses on projects that connect spirituality, nature, and human experience as central elements to rethink our relationship with the present and the future.
Her trajectory has been recognized in international photography spaces. She has received the Gabo Journalism Prize – Photography (2025), the Vision Sud-Est Award at Visions du Réel (2024), and the World Report Award | Documenting Humanity – Master Award 2025 (Shortlist).
