Fernanda Pineda is a Colombian photographer, producer, and filmmaker with an extensive background in documenting ethnic and cultural diversity. A graduate of the Centro de Investigación Cinematográfica in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Fernanda has dedicated her career to capturing and narrating visual stories that showcase the richness and challenges of local communities.
Her focus on visual storytelling and documentary photography has led to international exhibitions, including LATINAS at Rivoli Galerie in Paris (2022), the Latin American Foto Festival at the Bronx Documentary Center (2023), and FOLA, Uruguay (2024). She was a fellow of the IWMF's Adelante Colombia program (2020/2021) and was selected for the XXXV edition of the Eddie Adams Workshop, where she received the Bloomberg Award. She has been selected for the Rencontres de la Photographie de Marrakech exhibition in 2024 and the PhotoVogue Local Open Call ‘Latin America Panorama, Milan 2025. Fernanda has been nominated for the Foam Paul Huf Award and the Leica Oskar Barnack Award, both in 2024.
In her filmmaking career, Fernanda has directed and produced award-winning short films such as "Balanta," "Unless We Dance," "Bosques, el último refugio del aire," "Páramos, la siembra del agua," and "La reunión de los fragmentos." These films have been featured in numerous international film festivals, receiving accolades at Oberhausen, Curta Kinoforum São Paulo, Short Waves Poland, Best Documentary at the Mujeres Film Festival, Audience Award at Bogoshorts, Best Documentary at Santiago Wild, and a nomination for the Macondo Awards in 2024, among others.
Recently, her photographic project YOLÜJA earned her a fellowship to participate in the 2024 Joop Swart Masterclass by World Press Photo. Her documentary feature in development, "La sombra de Yolüja," won the Vision Sud-Est award at the Visions du Réel festival. As co-founder and co-director of Páramo Films, she develops visual storytelling workshops and manages photographic and documentary projects, combining her technical skills with deep empathy and connection to the communities she portrays.

Fernanda Pineda es fotógrafa, productora y cineasta Colombiana con una extensa trayectoria en la documentación de la diversidad étnica y cultural. Graduada del Centro de Investigación Cinematográfica en Buenos Aires, Argentina, Fernanda ha dedicado su carrera a capturar y narrar historias visuales que destacan la riqueza y los desafíos de las comunidades locales.
Su enfoque en la narrativa visual y la fotografía documental le ha permitido presentar sus obras en exposiciones internacionales, como LATINAS en Rivoli GalerieParís (2022), el LatinAmerican Foto Festival en el Bronx Documentary Center (2023), y FOLA, Uruguay (2024). Recientemente, su proyecto fotógrafico YOLÜJA le otorgó la beca para ser parte del Joop Swart Masterclass de World Press Photo, 2024. "La sombra de Yolüja," un largometraje documental en desarrollo, le valió el premio Vision Sud-Est en el festival Visions du Réel.
Como cofundadora y codirectora de la productora Páramo Films, desarrolla talleres de narrativa visual y gestiona proyectos fotográficos y documentales, combinando sus habilidades técnicas con una profunda empatía y conexión con las comunidades que retrata.
